Jappineh Clinic
Our work in the up-country village of Jappineh began, as is often the case, with a new nursery school. It has now expanded to include a much-needed hospital project for the same community.
This exciting project was made possible by a large donation made in memory of Sir Howard Dalton, the brilliant late husband of African Oyster Trust lynchpin Kira Dalton.
As a result of this donation, and of huge amounts of work on the ground, a suitable building has been fully refurbished and a compound created around it.

We are now providing on-going support to ensure this area has a well-stocked and well-run pre and post-natal clinic - absolutely vital when you consider that a serious illness or problem in childbirth could previously have resulted in a long and painful car journey for several hours in search of medical help.
The photos show some of the work which went into creating the new clinic, including the compound walls, and one of the regular village meetings held to plan the project and ensure everyone was involved throughout.
