At the Trust's AGM held on Sunday October 6th we were delighted to welcome Steve Emery as a new director. Steve is a great addition to our team in all sorts of ways. First, he has a strong connection to our work as one of our schools is named after his late wife Hilary Emery who was a great early encourager of our work. Second, he holds a high level position in the Greggs business and we will benefit from his wide business knowledge and acumen. At the AGM we also announced the resignation as director by Lady Kira Dalton. Kira will very much continue to interface with projects that the Trust supports financially, but she needs freedom to act in a wider, personal philanthropic role in The Gambia. We all wish Kira every success in this. Goodness knows The Gambia and its people continue to need all the help they can get: and with Kira working tirelessly on the ground and Steve supporting us as a trust director, we feel we have achieved the best of both worlds with these new arrangements.
